Narrative Music Video
The typical convention usually found in this style of music video is a storyline related to the lyrics in the song played out against the song . So the narration of what's going on in the music video is the lyrics being sung in the background.
Several benefits of using this style of music video, is if the lyrics are vague they have the ability to show them in their proper context therefore explaining the moral/meaning of the song in greater depth.
The only problem with portraying your story in this style is it may harm the viewers original view on the song by giving them too much detail making it less interpretative.
